Alper Cetingok

Group Head of Raymond James’s Diversified Industrials practice

Mr. Cetingok currently serves as Group Head of Raymond James’s Diversified Industrials practice as well as Sector Head of the firm’s Security & Safety group. Mr. Cetingok joined Raymond James in 2012 as Co-Head of the Security, Defense & Government Services (SDGS) Group in connection with Raymond James’s acquisition of Morgan Keegan. In his current capacity as Sector Head of the Security & Safety group, Mr. Cetingok is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and executing private placements, public and private offerings of debt and equity and mergers & acquisitions transactions for companies serving the global security and safety industries. Under Mr. Cetingok’s leadership, Raymond James’s Security & Safety Group has completed more than 100 M&A and financing transactions over the last 20 years, making it the industry’s most prolific advisor. Mr. Cetingok is also a member of the Investment Banking department’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining Raymond James, Mr. Cetingok spent approximately 15 years at Morgan Keegan, where he founded and led the firm’s Security & Defense Group. During his tenure at Morgan Keegan, Mr. Cetingok assumed increasing levels of responsibility within the Investment Banking department and held the distinction of being the youngest Managing Director in the firm’s history. Mr. Cetingok was also a member of the firm’s Investment Banking Management Committee and Chairman of its Transaction Committee.

Over his career, Mr. Cetingok has successfully completed a broad range of transactions across the security and safety industries, including numerous cross-border transactions in Europe and Asia. Among the more notable of Mr. Cetingok’s transactions are the merger of Visionics and Identix, the sale of Extreme CCTV to Bosch Security, the sale of American Bank Note Holographics to JDS Uniphase, the sale of Reveal Imaging Technologies to SAIC, the acquisition of Protection One by GTCR, the sale of Securitas Direct to a private equity consortium, the acquisition of Vivint by The Blackstone Group, the sale of Protection One to Apollo Group, the acquisition of Guardsmark by Allied Universal, the sale of NICE Systems’ Physical Security Business Unit to Battery Ventures, the sale of Electric Guard Dog to Snow Phipps and the sale of SimpliSafe to Hellman & Friedman.

In 2013, Mr. Cetingok was recognized by The M&A Advisor as a 40 Under 40 Dealmaker award recipient. He is also a member of the Advisory Board for the Earlybird Digital East Fund, an investment vehicle focused on funding early and growth stage companies in Turkey and Eastern Europe. Mr. Cetingok graduated magna cum laude from Rhodes College with a B.A. in Business Administration and International Studies and is currently a member of the Rhodes College Alumni Executive Committee. He is also a member of the Phi Beta Kappa honor society.
